RUSSIA UPDATES REGULATIONS ON WORK FROM HOME

Russian Parliament considers detailed regulations on working from home.
In accordance with the draft law, employers will be obliged to provide employees working from home with all necessary hard- and software as well as pay for their business trips.
If the amount of work from home remains the same, a company will be obliged to pay full salary.
Authorities will be allowed to force employees to work from home in case of emergency (the maximum term shall however not exceed 6 months).
If it is impossible to work from home, a company will be entitled to announce “down-time” i.e. to keep employees on hold with 2/3 of the normal salary.
If an employee is for no reason offline for more than two days, his/her labor contract may be terminated by the company.
It is expected that the law shall enter into force on January 1, 2021.
