Starting from December 29, 2021, foreign employees including highly qualified specialists are obliged to undergo medical tests, drug screening as well as face and fingerprint imaging.
Face and fingerprint imaging will be done only once – within 30 days after entering Russia or when applying for a work permit.
Medical and drug tests shall be done within 30 days after entering Russia and updated periodically.
The new procedures shall also apply to foreign unemployed citizens staying in Russia for more than 90 days.
In case of failure to comply with the new regulations, a foreign employee may be forced to stay for a shorter period, leave Russia or banned to enter the country.
