Russian government is going to provide online services with the possibility to identify users via the online state identification system (Gosuslugi.ru).
Avito.ru (private message board), Auto.ru (cars for sale) and Headhunter.ru (employment message board) have confirmed their participation in the experiment. Some other services (including Yandex) have also expressed their commitment.
In addition to new identification possibility, the users of these services will be able to enter into transactions using a simple electronic signature as well as to check online the assets offered for sale (cars, apartments, etc.). Further integration of online state and commercial services is expected (for example, companies and employees will be entitled to interact online, exchange documents, have online access to employment contracts and other).
Experts believe the new measure will increase the trustworthiness of online commercial services; however, Russian state may get access to financial information and use it for taxation.
The new identification possibility shall be available from July 1, 2021.
