ALL CONNECT FOR THE COURT! RUSSIAN COURTS GO DIGITAL

Russian government has elaborated a draft law that participants of a court procedure shall be entitled to participate digitally.
All participants of a litigation (civil, commercial, and other) will have an opportunity to file documents to the court electronically, participate in a hearing from computers and mobile devices and have online access to litigation documents.
The documents may be filed via the State Services Portal (gosuslugi.ru), informational systems of the courts and other digital documents management systems. Documents will be signed with simple or qualified digital signature. Court’s rulings and notices to participants will be also sent electronically.
The right to file documents on paper and participate personally will remain.
The proposed system is already widely used in state commercial arbitrations, but now will be updated and expanded for other courts.
The law is expected to enter on January 1, 2022 into force.
